  • Isopropyl alcohol wipes and lint-free cloths
  • Heat-shrink sleeves (for fusion splicing)
  • Optical power meter or OTDR for testing

Step 2: Prepare the Fiber

  1. Strip the outer jacket of the main fiber cable carefully to expose the bare fiber.
  2. Clean the fiber with alcohol wipes to remove dust and debris.
  3. Cleave the fiber using a precision fiber cleaver to create a flat, smooth end for splicing .
