  • Circuit Breaker (CB): Receives the trip signal from the relay and isolates the faulty section of the system.
  • Tripping Circuit: Connects the relay output to the CB coil, enabling the breaker to operate automatically during faults .

Components and Connections

  1. Primary Circuit: The transmission line or equipment being protected.
  2. CT Secondary Circuit: Connects the secondary winding of the CT to the relay input.
  3. Relay Operating Coil: Activates when the relay detects a fault.
  4. Trip Circuit: Completes the path to the CB coil, causing the breaker to open and isolate the fault .

Types of Schematics
