  2. Installation on Armor Rods Vibration dampers should not be installed directly on the cable; they are typically mounted on armor rods to prevent mechanical damage to the optical fiber. If the damper position is outside the inner preformed rods, additional armor rods should be installed . The distance between the end of the armor rod and the inner preformed rods of fittings should be more than 70 mm .
  3. Proximity to Hardware Dampers should be installed approximately 8 inches (about 200 mm) from the ends of suspension clamps, deadends, or other hardware to ensure proper damping without interfering with cable attachments .
