SC and ST Connector Overview

SC (Subscriber Connector) is a square, push-pull connector with a 2.5mm ferrule, known for easy insertion/removal, low insertion loss, and high alignment accuracy. It is widely used in Gigabit Ethernet, telecom, and data center applications, supporting both single-mode and multi-mode fibers with common wavelengths of 1310nm and 1550nm . ST (Straight Tip) is a round, metal bayonet-type connector with a rotating locking mechanism, historically common in early fiber networks. It is mostly used for multi-mode fiber, suitable for medium and short distance transmission, and provides stable connections with good shock resistance .

Connecting SC to ST
